## Selects

An AI pre-editing and footage-prep application for long-form video. It is a standalone desktop app, not a plugin, and does not run inside any NLE. Raw footage goes in, a real rough cut comes out, and the prepared project is handed off to the editor's NLE.

**What it does**

- Multicam sync across many cameras and audio tracks, with automatic speaker detection, camera assignment, and best-audio-track selection
- Smart stringout: raw media automatically organized by scene, topic, and chapter, the way an assistant editor would do it
- Transcription with speaker labels, plus transcript-based editing to cut silences, filler words, and mistakes
- Contextual camera switching that follows the active speaker, or a custom preference
- Natural-language footage search ("the part where he laughed", "the intro sequence") with no scrubbing
- Prompt a draft: describe storyline, pacing, cuts, camera switching, and B-roll placement in plain language and get a real timeline back, not a text outline. Unlimited drafts per project.
- MCP support, so AI assistants can drive the edit directly
- Handoff to Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve with categorized bins, color-coded topics, markers, and transcripts intact. Edits are non-destructive.
- Transcript export for paper cuts, and direct video export when the rough cut is ready to ship

Selects does not generate captions. Use Premiere Assistant for that.
