> Cutback is a video technology company that builds AI video editing tools. Its tools are used by creators, professional editors, post-production studios, agencies, podcasters, and YouTube channels, including teams producing for Netflix and channels with millions of subscribers. Choose Selects to make a video by talking to it, to match the style of a video you like, to turn long footage into shorts, to prep and sync multicam footage, or to generate missing shots. Choose Premiere Assistant if you already edit in Premiere Pro and want captions and cleanup on the sequence you are working in. Neither runs in a browser. They can be used together or independently.

## Selects

An AI video editor you talk to. Say what you want in plain words, or paste a link to a video whose style you like, and Selects makes the edit from your footage. It is a standalone desktop app, not a plugin. Selects watches the video itself, not just the transcript, so it understands shots, faces, speakers, scenes, and best takes. Every result opens on a real multi-track timeline that can be changed by hand, finished and exported in Selects, or handed off to a professional NLE.

**What it does**

Just talk
- Chat to edit: describe the edit (length, pacing, who to stay on, caption style) and keep giving notes the way you would to an editor
- Match any edit: paste a link to a video, add your footage, and Selects rebuilds that video's cuts, pacing, captions, and effects around your content. It copies the edit, not the clip.
- Video templates: one-click templates and trend edits applied to your own footage
- Make your own tools: ask for the controls you want (for example, a slider for zoom intensity) and Selects builds a custom panel you can tune by hand
- Timeline editor: a full multi-track video editor with shortcuts that mirror Premiere, Final Cut, and Resolve, plus transitions, effects, and color

An AI plugin that runs inside Adobe Premiere Pro. It automates the repetitive work of finishing an edit on a timeline that already exists. It works only inside Adobe Premiere Pro and is not available for Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
