Rearranging Clips, 100+ File Support, and Scene Annotation | Selects Update
Discover new Selects AI video editing features: drag‑and‑drop clip rearranging, support for 100+ files, and scene annotation for faster assembly edits.
We're back with another product update from the Selects team, introducing three of our most-requested features for creating rough cut video. These new features are designed to speed up your rough cut process and give you more control over how your footage comes together, especially in longer or visually-driven content.
What’s New?
Improved Features
Rearranging Clips Just Got Easier
Previously, the Selects video editing software allowed you to choose which clips to keep, but the order was set based on when you spoke. Now, you can drag and drop clips in any sequence inside the stringout.
If your best intro came at the end of the shoot, no problem, just move it to the top. Want to reshuffle your chapters or flip the pacing of your video? Now you can create an assembly cut instantly, all before ever opening a traditional editing timeline to cut footage.
Raw Footage Import: Now Supporting 100+ Files
You asked for it, and we delivered. Our file limit has jumped from 50 to hundreds, so you can work with large shoots (that have hundreds of video clips) without compromise. This is perfect for video production editors like wedding videographers, documentary editors, or any creator working with hours of footage.
Upload it all, let Selects organize the usable moments, and start editing faster than ever.
Scene Annotation
Until now, Selects has focused on spoken content through audio (speech-to-text). But our latest beta adds support for visual understanding too.
The app will now annotate moments where no one is talking, like gestures, actions, screen graphics, or gameplay highlights. These are automatically identified and appear in your transcript view, complete with clip previews. You can select and reorder them just like spoken moments, all within the storyboard.
This is a game-changer for creators working on vlogs, sports edits, tutorials, or gaming content, where visuals tell just as much story as your words.
