Remove Silence

Benefits of using Cutback's silence remover

Cutback uses AI to detect silences while other options use rule-based logic. Due to this difference, Cutback handles silences perfectly even when words trail off at the end.


Getting Started

Method 1

Step 1. Start Cutback and select 'Remove silence'

Step 2. Select video range (Whole sequence or partially with In/Out points)


Step 3. Select removal method.

  • Remove : Delete the clips detected right away.

  • Split track : Put the detected clips to a separate track.

Step 4. Select how tight you want to cut


Step 5. Click 'Remove silence' button and check out the results.



Method 2 : Start in the transcript

Step 1. Start Cutback and select 'Edit captions'


Step 2. Transcribe video, and click on the 'Remove silence' menu on the top

Step 3. The silent clips to be cut will be marked red. Review and apply edits
